Turkey lettuce wraps

This recipe is whole30 compliant

It is gluten, dairy, nut and soy free

It is a light and tasty meal that takes less than 15 minutes to make

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 pound ground organic turkey
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 3 spring onions/scallions
  • 2 tbsp. pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tbsp. sesame seeds
  • One head of lettuce (I like little gem/romaine for the boat shape but iceberg or butter works too)
  • 2 tsp. allspice
  • Himalayan sea salt and ground black pepper

(Options: this is a whole30 compliant recipe, but if you don’t follow this you can try adding some hoisin for sweetness or sriracha for spice at the end. It is easily adaptable, so add in other vegetables if you prefer, or some bacon to make it more indulgent)

Method

  • Mix the allspice into the turkey
  • Heat coconut oil in a saucepan on a medium high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned. Season to taste.
  • Add in the garlic, shallots and ginger stirring frequently until soft and well combined
  • Once cooked, allow to cool, add the spring onion/scallions and pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, mix and place in the lettuce leaves, taco-style
